Krafton, the publisher of BGMI, has officially announced the third season of the highly anticipated Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2024 (BGIS 2024) starting from April 4th.
When does registration open?
Krafton has officially announced that registration for BGIS 2024 will kick off on March 19, 2024.
Teams with a minimum of four players can register for the India Series, marking the start of their journey towards potential glory.
How to register for BGIS 2024?
Registration for the BGIS 2024 will be conducted through the Esports Battlegrounds Mobile India website.
Teams will need to provide information such as their teammates' names, in-game IDs, dates of birth, and more.
The minimum requirements for registration will be mentioned on the website, and only those squads that fulfill all the eligibility criteria will be allowed to contest in the tournament.
Registered teams will have to go through intense rounds by competing with top teams in their journey to reach the semifinals.
Format of BGIS 2024:
The BGIS 2024 tournament will begin with The Grind stage from April 4 to April 28.
During this stage, 256 well-known teams will be invited and grouped into 16 groups.
Each group will play a four-week contest, with the top 16 teams qualifying directly to the BGIS Round 4, the 17th to 32nd ranked teams advancing to Round 3, and the 33rd to 64th placed teams moving to Round 2.
The initial four rounds of BGIS 2024 will be held from May 2 to May 26, followed by the Wildcard Entry stage from May 30 to June 2.

Divided into 64 groups with 16 squads in each group
The top 7 teams from each group and the top 32 among the remaining teams (A total of 480 teams) qualify for the next round
Round 2: May 9th - 12th, 2024
480 Teams from Round 1 + Bottom 32 teams from The Grind
Teams are divided into 32 groups with 16 squads in each group
The top 7 teams from each group and the top 16 among the remaining teams (A total of 240 teams) qualify for the next round
Round 3: May 16th - 19th, 2024
240 teams from Round 2 + 16 teams (17th-32nd ranked) from The Grind
Teams are divided into 16 groups with 16 squads in each group
The top 3 teams from each group (A total of 48 teams) qualify for Round 4
The top 16 teams among the remaining teams advance to Wildcard Entry
Round 4: May 23rd - 26th, 2024

The top 4 teams from each group (A total of 16 teams) advance to the Semi-Finals in Week 1

Similar to last year Krafton is hosting a massive ₹2 crore prize pool, which was an increase from the ₹1 crore of the first season.

4th Place - ₹15,00,000
5th Place - ₹12,50,000

What's new in BGIS 2024?
While Krafton has not made any official announcements about format changes, rumors suggest that BGIS 2024 will feature a new 10-point scoring system in an official tournament for the first time.
Additionally, the event will reportedly be played in a new zone meta, introducing a fresh challenge for the competitors.
Who will be the teams to watch?
As teams gear up for BGIS 2024, some organizations like Team Soul and Entity already have strong BGMI rosters in place.
The defending champion, Gladiator Esports, has also announced their return to the scene and will disclose their new players in the coming days. However, their former lineup, who won the BGIS 2023, is now part of Gods Reign roster, adding an intriguing twist to the competition.
