Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series BMPS 2024 Sets New Viewership Record

TEAM X SPARK BMPS 2024 WINNER

The Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2024 set a new viewership record, making it the most-watched BGMI event to date.

According to data from Esports Charts, the tournament, which concluded on September 29 at the Adlux International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Kochi, saw an astonishing peak of 494,000 concurrent viewers during the final round of the Grand Finals. This record-breaking figure is the highest ever for a BGMI event featuring only competitive players.

The previous high for BGMI viewership was set by the 2021 Launch Party, but that event included both professional players and streamers. The Pro Series 2024 shattered that record for purely competitive play, marking a major milestone for the game’s esports scene. With 11.15 million total hours watched and an average of 72,300 viewers across 154 hours of broadcast time, the tournament became the second BGMI event to surpass 10 million hours watched, following the iQOO Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021.

The event’s popularity was further highlighted on the official KRAFTON INDIA ESPORTS YouTube channel, which saw a 55% increase in viewership. The Hindi broadcast of the September 29 finals hit 474,500 peak viewers, becoming the channel’s most-watched stream ever, with over 1 million hours watched for the first time in its history.

The tournament featured 128 teams in the League stage, with the top 16 moving on to the Grand Finals. Over 18 rounds, a total of $239,560 was on the line. Team XSpark emerged as the champion, securing almost $90,000 in prize money and making history as the only BGMI team to win back-to-back official tournaments in one year.

Beyond Team XSpark’s impressive performance, the event’s viewership success was driven by several key factors. The introduction of the Kick platform and an increase in co-casting channels helped broaden the tournament’s reach. Additionally, Skyesports, one of India’s leading esports organizers, played a pivotal role in managing the event, contributing to its overall success. The removal of ban threats also allowed the BGMI esports scene to thrive again, ensuring that the game’s popularity continues to soar.
