CD Projekt Red has officially confirmed that The Witcher 4 will not be released before the end of 2026, putting an end to speculation about an earlier launch. The announcement came during the company’s fiscal year 2024 earnings presentation, clarifying that the highly anticipated RPG is still in development and won’t be ready anytime soon.

"Even though we do not plan to release The Witcher 4 by the end of 2026, we are still driven by this financial goal," the company stated during the representation.

According to reports from PC Gamer, the topic came up again in the Q&A session that followed. When asked if a 2027 release was on the table, CD Projekt avoided giving a direct answer. Chief Financial Officer Piotr Nielubowicz reiterated, "We are not going to announce the precise launch date for the game yet. All we could share now to give more visibility to investors is that the game will not be launched within the timeframe of the first target for the incentive program, which ends December 31, 2026."

The Witcher 4 officially entered full production in November 2024, and CD Projekt surprised fans with a cinematic reveal trailer at The Game Awards. The trailer showcased an older Ciri, hinting at a new direction for the series.

Although a 2026 launch is now officially ruled out, an early 2027 release remains a possibility. However, game development is unpredictable, and unforeseen delays could push the date further. For now, fans will have to remain patient as CD Projekt Red continues to work on one of the most anticipated RPGs of the decade.
