Marvel Rivals players might soon see Deadpool joining the game's growing list of playable characters.
According to a leak from MarvelRivalLeak on Twitter, voice interactions between Deadpool and existing Marvel Rivals characters have been discovered in the game’s files. In one leaked exchange, Spider-Man greets Deadpool with his signature wit, saying, “Great, we’re saving the world, and here comes the loosest cannon.”
The game, which lets players take control of iconic Marvel heroes and villains for free, has been steadily introducing new characters. Season 1 welcomed the Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic, with the rest of the Fantastic Four expected to arrive later in the season.
Further fueling speculation about Deadpool’s arrival is a recent update in Marvel Snap, another Marvel game, which offered players a Deadpool-themed nameplate as a free reward. This kind of cross-promotion has only added to the excitement surrounding his potential debut in Marvel Rivals.
Deadpool has been a box office powerhouse, especially following the success of Deadpool & Wolverine last year. Marvel Rivals already features an MCU-inspired outfit for Wolverine, which some players see as yet another clue hinting at Deadpool’s imminent arrival.
Beyond Deadpool, the leaked voice interactions suggest more characters could be on their way, including MODOK and Hit Monkey.
NetEase, the developer behind Marvel Rivals, has promised players they'll try to add a new character approximately every 45 days. The game is currently in the middle of Season 1, which has brought several changes and updates, including new environments and game modes like Doom Match – the game's version of free-for-all combat.
As for when all this might happen, Season 1 is expected to end sometime in April, though exact dates haven't been announced yet. For now, fans will have to wait for official confirmation about when they can expect to see the "Merc with a Mouth" in action.
