Electronic Arts has officially introduced a paid Premium Season Pass to FC 25, marking a significant shift in how the long-running soccer series approaches monetization.
This new pass runs alongside the existing free seasonal pass but offers exclusive, tradable rewards for players willing to invest a little more—either through gameplay or real-world money.
How Much Does It Cost?
The Premium Pass is priced at 500,000 in-game coins or 1,000 FC Points, which translates to roughly $10.
It launched today on April 24th as part of FC 25's Season 7, and it’s available across multiple game modes including Ultimate Team, Clubs, and Career Mode (both Manager and Player).
What's Included?
According to EA, this new premium tier is an “additional ladder” to the standard seasonal one, and it’s stacked with exclusive content like:
Tradable packs (yes, you can sell them on the in-game market)
High-powered Player Items (including a 96-rated Immortal Icon Franck Ribéry)
Evolution consumables to enhance existing cards
40 tiers of unlockable rewards, earned through gameplay
For dedicated players, the real kicker is that rewards from the Premium Pass can be sold for coins, meaning you could grind your way to affording the next pass without spending real cash.

No Content Removed From Free Track, EA Says
In its announcement, EA stressed that the Premium Pass is “purely additive”. The publisher insists no rewards from the free tier have been moved behind the paywall.
If you've already made progress on the free pass and decide to upgrade, you'll receive all Premium rewards "retroactively" for the tiers you've unlocked—plus a 10,000 Season Points bonus at level 20.
A Strategic Move?
The timing of this rollout is worth noting. The Premium Pass arrives just as EA enters its 2025 fiscal year, which analysts speculate could mean this is a testbed for monetization strategies in future titles. Earlier this year, EA revised its financial forecast downward, citing FC 25’s “underperformance” as a major factor.
Fan Reaction: Divided as Expected
As with any new monetization feature, fan feedback has been… mixed.
Critics argue that FC 25 is already a full-priced title heavily monetized through microtransactions, especially in Ultimate Team. One player quipped, “I'm genuinely shocked it's taken EA this long to have a paid Season Pass.”
On the other hand, some fans are defending the move, pointing out that:
Everything in the Premium Pass is earnable through gameplay
Players still need to grind to unlock content, even if they’ve paid
The pass doesn't gate any free content behind a paywall
This move continues a broader trend for EA Sports titles, evolving from simple retail releases to live service platforms packed with optional content, microtransactions, and now season passes.
