Epic Games has revealed the most popular titles on its platform in 2024 based on player spending and engagement.

The company categorized these games into three tiers: Mythic (Top 5), Legendary (6 to 10), and Epic (11 to 20). But attention they are not arranged in rank specifically.

Top Titles of 2024 by Player Spend and Engagement

Mythic Tier (Top 5)

  • Genshin Impact

  • Rocket League

  • Honkai: Star Rail

  • Grand Theft Auto V (Premium Edition)

  • Fortnite Battle Royale

Notably, none of the top 5 games were released in 2024, highlighting the enduring appeal of established titles.

No surprise seeing Fortnite Battle Royale and Genshin Impact up there either. These games just keep printing money!

Legendary Tier (6-10)

  • EA Sports FC 24

  • Destiny 2: The Final Shape (Annual Pass)

  • Alan Wake II

  • Fall Guys

  • Wuthering Waves

Alan Wake II's presence in the Legendary tier is a huge win for story-driven horror fans. Remedy Entertainment really knocked it out of the park with this one.

Also, Remedy announced recently that the game recovered its all production and marketing costs and now all it's doing is printing money.

Epic Tier (11-20)

  • EA Sports FC 25 (Standard Edition)

  • Cyberpunk 2077

  • The Sims 4

  • Black Myth: Wukong

  • Satisfactory

  • Warframe 1999

  • Farming Simulator 22

  • Dead by Daylight

  • Red Dead Redemption II

  • Dead Island 2

Black Myth: Wukong's appearance shows the growing appetite for Asian-inspired RPGs in the Western market. The game was a huge hit on Steam earning over a billion dollars and over 20 million copies sold.

An analysis of these rankings reveals that only four of the top 20 games were released in 2024.

GTA V, The Sim 4 is still going strong nearly a decade after - talk about staying power!

Epic Games Store Performance in 2024

In addition to top-performer games, Epic Games shared insights into the overall performance of its store.

According to the company’s Year in Review report, the Epic Games Store reached 295 million users in 2024, marking a 25 million increase from the previous year.

Consumer spending on the platform also saw significant growth. Players spent $1.09 billion on PC games, representing a 15% increase from 2023.

However, spending on third-party titles declined by 18%, totaling $255 million.

The number of game releases on the Epic Games Store saw a slight drop. In 2024, 1,100 games were launched, compared to 1,300 in 2023.

Despite this, the platform continued to attract major releases and maintain strong engagement among players.
