After much anticipation, FAU-G: Domination is set to make a return in the Indian gaming scene with its revamped design, fresh features, and an emphasis on multiplayer combat.
Developed by Dot9 Games under the banner of nCore Games and published by Nazara Technologies, the game aims to take on its rivals BGMI and Free Fire, which dominated the Indian gaming market as per Niko report.
Last week, at the Grand Event held in Mumbai, the gameplay trailer was unveiled by Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who serves as a mentor for the franchise.
Vishal Gondal, gaming veteran and founder of nCore highlighted that the game showcases India’s "amazing game design and development talent" and signals "India's arrival as a major player in the global gaming industry."
What’s New in FAU-G: Domination?
The original FAU-G was a single-player, hand-to-hand combat game, which had limited appeal due to its simplicity and lack of depth. In contrast, FAU-G: Domination has been entirely rebuilt from the ground up. It now features modern military-themed aesthetics, multiplayer modes, and customization options that make it a much more versatile game.
5v5 Multiplayer Mode: The biggest addition to the game is the 5v5 multiplayer combat, where two teams of five players go head-to-head in a battle for dominance. This shift from single-player to multiplayer makes the game much more engaging and competitive.
New Game Modes: The new version features multiple team modes and one-man army modes, each with unique winning scenarios and defined rules.
Modern military aesthetics: The game now incorporates modern-day military visuals with Indian characters, each having unique backstories.
Monetization strategy: While the original game's monetization wasn't specified, FAU-G: Domination will allow players to purchase battle passes and cosmetic items for character and gear customization.
How Does FAU-G: Domination Compare to the Original?
The revamped version of FAU-G is a complete overhaul of the original game. The first FAU-G title was criticized for its limited mechanics and lack of a multiplayer mode, which left many players underwhelmed.
FAU-G: Domination addresses these issues head-on by incorporating multiplayer combat, modern graphics, and customization options, all of which were missing in the original.
The game has been designed using an entirely new engine, which brings a significant upgrade in terms of both performance and graphics.
Furthermore, developers partnered with NIBE Limited, a defense manufacturer, to ensure an accurate representation of India's defense efforts.
In addition to offering thrilling gameplay, FAU-G: Domination is also committed to social responsibility. At the game’s launch event, Nazara Technologies announced a Rs 25 lakh donation to the Bharat Ke Veer Trust, which supports the families of martyred armed forces personnel. Additionally, certain in-game cosmetic items, such as badges, will be sold with the proceeds directed to this charitable cause.
Pre-registrations are already open on the Google Play Store, and more platforms will follow soon. Players who pre-register will receive exclusive in-game cosmetic items, Beast Collection which include accessories like gun skins, frames, banners, and charms.
The game’s launch comes at a crucial time when India is said to become a fast-growing gaming market. According to Niko Partners, India's gaming revenue is expected to surpass $943 million in 2024 and grow to $1.4 billion by 2028.
