Fortnite is entering a galaxy far, far away—literally.

Epic Games has announced that Chapter 6 Season 3, titled Galactic Battle, will be an entire Star Wars-themed season, launching May 2, 2025, and running through June 8. At just 37 days, it’s one of the shortest Fortnite seasons to date—but also one of the most ambitious.
Unlike past collaborations that were limited-time events, this season marks the first full-season crossover with Star Wars, transforming the Fortnite island with new characters, weapons, vehicles, events, and locations—all inspired by the iconic sci-fi franchise.
Five Weekly Updates — One Galactic Storyline
Epic has confirmed that Galactic Battle will unfold across five major updates, each highlighting different aspects of the Star Wars universe:
Imperial Takeover (May 2): The Empire invades. Stormtroopers occupy the island as Star Wars-themed POIs replace key areas.
The Pull of the Force (May 8): Force-wielders like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader may arrive, introducing Force powers into gameplay.
Mandalorian Rising (May 22): Bounty hunters arrive, with Mandalorians appearing in challenges and across the map.
Star Destroyer Bombardment (May 29): Star Destroyers escalate the war by attacking the island from above.
Death Star Sabotage (June 7): The season finale includes an interactive live event, allowing players to join a mission to destroy the Death Star, visible floating in the sky.
A New Map Reimagined for Star Wars
The Fortnite island has been overhauled with Star Wars-themed Points of Interest (POIs), according to leakers and early previews:
First Order Base (replaces Demon’s Dojo)
Resistance Base (replaces Hopeful Heights)
Vader Samurai’s Solitude (replaces Shogun’s Solitude)
Outpost Enclave (replaces Whiffy Wharf)
Mos Eisley Cantina-style hub for hangouts and quests
Players can also explore a massive hovering Star Destroyer, which houses high-tier Imperial loot.
Skins, Battle Pass, and Customization
The Battle Pass is packed with legendary Star Wars characters and Fortnite-original crossovers:
Emperor Palpatine
General Grievous
Poe Dameron
Wookiee Cuddle Team Leader
Evie (Jedi/Sith Remix)
Mace Windu
In the Item Shop, additional skins will rotate in, including:
Darth Jar Jar (yes—teased in the official trailer)
Captain Phasma
Customizable Mandalorian skin
Force Powers, Lightsabers, and X-Wings
Gameplay will see a massive shake-up:
Lightsabers return as melee weapons, with rumors of customizable lightsaber pickaxes.
Players can access Force powers, including a new Force Lightning ability.
Star Wars vehicles debut, including pilotable X-Wings and TIE Fighters for mid-match dogfights.
A mix of classic and new blasters, pistols, SMGs, and assault rifles rounds out the arsenal.
LEGO Fortnite Joins the Galactic Battle
Even LEGO Fortnite is getting a Star Wars upgrade. Leaks hint at:
A Star Wars-themed LEGO Pass
New skins like LEGO Chewbacca
Custom quests tied to the Galactic Civil War
Why This Season Is a Big Deal
This season’s scope is directly tied to Disney’s $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games in early 2024. That partnership is paving the way for a persistent Disney universe within Fortnite, set to launch by late 2026.
The season’s short runtime is no accident—Epic is opting for intensity over length, ensuring constant updates and avoiding the mid-season fatigue that plagued earlier extended crossovers.
With the release aligned to Star Wars Day (May 4) and timed just after Andor Season 2 premiered on April 22, the synergy between Fortnite and the Star Wars franchise has never been stronger.
It’s still unclear whether Chapter 6 Season 4 will launch immediately afterward or if there will be a brief content break.
