Inazuma Eleven Soccer Game Coming to Xbox for the First Time in 2025

Inazuma Eleven

Level-5 Inc. has announced that Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road will release on August 21, 2025, marking the first time this popular soccer RPG series will be available on Xbox consoles, leaving Nintendo exclusivity.

The developers shared this exciting news during a special showcase stream on April 11 where they revealed many details about the upcoming game.

Fans of the franchise, which began in 2008, can look forward to experiencing the unique blend of soccer and roleplaying elements that has made Inazuma Eleven a hit in Japan and beyond.

Unlike realistic soccer games such as EA Sports FC, Inazuma Eleven takes a more creative approach to the sport. Players use extraordinary, almost superhero-like abilities during matches, making for exciting and over-the-top gameplay. These special moves are a signature element of the series that has helped it stand out in the sports game genre.

According to the developer, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road will offer several different ways to play. In Story Mode, players follow high school student Destin Billows as he works to build Japan's best soccer team. This mode involves more than just matches—players will participate in mini-games and develop relationships with classmates to convince them to join the team. The developers promise an emotional sports journey filled with excitement and dramatic moments.

The game also features Chronicle Mode, where players can relive famous matches from throughout the franchise's history. A character named Victorio, who has time-traveling abilities, guides players through this mode. Chronicle Mode includes special challenges and the impressive opportunity to recruit from over 5,200 characters to create the ultimate dream team.

Level-5 has introduced new control options to make the game accessible to different playing styles. "Manual Mode" lets players control one character at a time, similar to traditional soccer games. For those who prefer a more strategic approach, "Commander Mode" has the AI handle character movements while players focus on formations and overall strategy.

Between soccer matches, players can visit Bond Town to create personal avatars and interact with other players online. The game will support cooperative play, including special two-player tag matches for those who want to team up with friends.

Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road will launch simultaneously across multiple platforms. Besides Xbox Series X|S, the game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

The franchise has grown significantly since its beginning, expanding from video games into manga, anime TV shows, and movies. With this multi-platform release, Level-5 is bringing its unique take on soccer to new audiences who may not have experienced the series before.
