Infinix, a leading mobile brand in India, has launched the second season of GT PowerPlay, a major BGMI tournament, with a prize pool of ₹1 lakh, designed specifically for new and emerging gaming talent in India.
The open for all competition has already attracted over 1,000 teams, building on the success of its first season which saw more than 5,000 participants.
According to Infinix, the competition is structured to be accessible to all players regardless of their rank or previous gaming experience.
"Mobile gaming is at the heart of digital entertainment today, and Infinix is proud to support aspiring gamers with cutting-edge technology and opportunities that bring them closer to their dreams," says Anish Kapoor, CEO at Infinix India.
Glazer Games will manage the tournament operations and Logistics. The multi-stage competition will guide teams through qualifiers, playoffs, and finals, with all matches being streamed live on YouTube and other social media.
Infinix will use its Discord server, which currently hosts over 29,000 members, as a hub for tournament updates and real-time discussions. The company's XClub platform will also feature behind-the-scenes content and facilitate interactions between participants and gaming influencers.
Popular gaming personalities like Smitha Plays, Gigga, Lapid, Mastizone Gaming, and Mayur Gaming participated in the previous season.
Important dates for the tournament include registration opening on March 5th and closing on March 11th, followed by the influencer round on February 17th, with finals taking place on February 18th and 19th.
The tournament reflects the growing popularity of mobile esports in India, particularly BGMI, which has established a strong presence in the Indian gaming market. For many participants, GT PowerPlay represents an opportunity to gain visibility and potentially launch a career in professional gaming.
Infinix's gaming lineup in India includes devices like the GT 20 Pro smartphone and GT Book laptop, demonstrating the company's commitment to the gaming community.
