Krafton Launches New Mobile Game "Rookie Tales" from Indian Incubator Program

Krafton India’s gaming incubator is starting to bear fruit—and its latest title is ready for early players.

Rookie Tales, a mobile strategy puzzle game developed by Dunali Games, is now entering soft launch. The game is one of the first titles to emerge from KIGI (Krafton India Gaming Incubator), an initiative launched in October 2023 to support and empower independent game developers across India.

Blending board game-inspired mechanics with real-time action, Rookie Tales promises a fresh and immersive experience on mobile. Players navigate a grid-based map using deck-building and tactical decision-making to overcome enemies and bosses. As the adventure unfolds, players explore multiple environments while unlocking new narrative layers.

According to Krafton, the game offers "a unique and immersive challenge that keeps players engaged at every turn." The hybrid design encourages both strategic planning and responsive gameplay, aiming to deliver depth without overwhelming casual audiences.

Rookie Tales stands as a promising early showcase for the KIGI program, which provides mentorship, development resources, publishing support, and funding to Indian game studios. Earlier this year, another KIGI-supported title—Spice Secrets by Shura Games—entered early access, marking a strong start for the incubator’s slate.

With Rookie Tales now rolling out to select regions, Krafton India continues its mission to foster homegrown talent and build a vibrant game development ecosystem in the country.
