Minecraft Player Creates Entire Elden Ring Map After 2,000 Hours of Work

Minecraft Player Creates Entire Elden Ring Map

One dedicated Minecraft player has taken fan devotion to a whole new level—by investing over 2,000 hours to faithfully recreate the sprawling world of Elden Ring inside Mojang’s iconic block-building sandbox.

Since its 2022 debut, FromSoftware’s Elden Ring has captivated gamers with its hauntingly beautiful world, The Lands Between. Fans have honored the game’s artistry in countless creative ways—from pixel art and woodcarvings to watercolors and low-poly models. But YouTuber Lerfing has set a new benchmark with his ongoing Minecraft megaproject.

Lerfing’s recreation covers nearly the entire surface map of Elden Ring, including iconic regions like Limgrave, Liurnia of the Lakes, Caelid, Altus Plateau, and the Mountaintops of the Giants. Major in-game locations such as Leyndell and Haligtree are also featured, although the creator notes these areas are still being refined for accuracy and scale.

Lerfing estimates that around 2,000 hours have been poured into the build so far—an effort that doesn’t yet include underground areas like Siofra River and Lake of Rot, or the newly added Land of Shadow from the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. However, fans can expect more updates as these sections are developed.

The project recently went viral after reaching the front page of Reddit’s r/EldenRing, racking up over 27k upvotes and hundreds of admiring comments. Many praised Lerfing’s attention to detail and commitment to accurately translating Elden Ring’s dark fantasy aesthetic into Minecraft’s signature blocky style.

In response to the surge of interest, Lerfing has made the map available for download through his Patreon, allowing fans to explore the build for themselves and witness the scale of his work firsthand.

The timing couldn’t be better for Elden Ring fans. With Elden Ring: Nightreign, a new cooperative roguelike game, set to launch on May 30, and the upcoming Tarnished Edition headed to Switch 2 later in 2025, excitement around the franchise continues to grow.
