Overwatch 2 is joining forces with the popular anime series Gundam Wing for a special collaboration in Season 16, starting April 29.
The exciting crossover was officially confirmed by Overwatch 2 via the social media platform X.
This collaboration will launch one week after Season 16 begins on April 22, giving players something extra to look forward to after the initial season update.
So far, Mercy is the only hero confirmed to be getting a Gundam-themed skin. The announcement included a teaser image showing Mercy's silhouette with her wings spread wide against a space background.
"Suit up and take flight when our latest collaboration arrives in-game on April 29," the developers wrote in their announcement.
This crossover was initially hinted at during Gundam's 30th anniversary celebration, but now players finally have a concrete date to look forward to. The collaboration bridges two beloved franchises, bringing the iconic mecha designs of Gundam Wing into the fast-paced hero shooter world of Overwatch 2.
The Gundam Wing collaboration isn't the only exciting addition coming to Season 16. The new season will also introduce "Dokiwatch," a collection of magical girl-inspired skins that anime fans will surely appreciate. Heroes like Kiriko, Freja, Juno, Widowmaker, DVa, and Brigitte will all receive magical girl outfits that match this theme.
