Overwatch 2 and Sea of Thieves are joining forces in an unexpected gaming crossover, but in a different way than Overwatch fans might expect.
Unlike previous Overwatch 2 collaborations, this crossover actually brings Overwatch-themed content to Sea of Thieves rather than the other way around. The partnership comes as Sea of Thieves prepares to launch on a new gaming platform - Battle.Net.
According to the announcement, Sea of Thieves will be receiving Overwatch-inspired items instead of Overwatch getting new pirate-themed content.
Players who pre-purchase the Premium Edition of Sea of Thieves will receive exclusive Blizzard-themed sails for their ships. These special sails feature logos from various Battle.net games including Overwatch 2, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Diablo 4. There's even a sail sporting the Battle.net logo itself.
The Premium Edition costs $59.99 USD and includes several other bonuses beyond the Blizzard-themed sails. As per the details provided, buyers will receive:
Dire Dark Warsmith ship decorations
Dire Dark Warsmith ship crest
Dire Dark Warsmith costume set
Five Blizzard-themed ship sails:
Sails of Warriors' Will (Battle.net themed)
Sails of Heroes' Horizon (Overwatch themed)
Sails of Fabled Feuds (World of Warcraft themed)
Sails of Binding Bounty (Hearthstone themed)
Sails of Demonic Devotion (Diablo themed)
1,000 Ancient Coins
6 days of Early Access
Season 16 Plunder Pass
For gamers interested in Sea of Thieves but not willing to spend as much on extra content, there are other options available. The standard edition costs $39.99 USD, while the Deluxe Edition runs $49.99 USD. The Deluxe package includes some bonus items, though not as many as the Premium Edition.
