Overwatch 2 is getting ready for a second collaboration with K-pop group LE SSERAFIM, adding new character skins and in-game items in March 2025.
The upcoming partnership builds on the success of their first collaboration from November 2023, which featured special cosmetic items for characters like D.Va, Tracer, Sombra, Brigitte, Kiriko, and Junkrat. That initial team-up proved highly successful, helping Overwatch 2 reach the top of Steam's sales charts.
The announcement came through an official video message from LE SSERAFIM members shared on Overwatch's social media channels. According to the group members, fans can look forward to "brand new in-game skins and cosmetics" arriving this March.
The timing of this collaboration appears strategic, potentially aligning with LE SSERAFIM's new album "HOT," scheduled for release on March 14, 2025. This synchronization suggests the new gaming cosmetics might draw inspiration from the album's visual themes.
While specific details about the new character skins remain under wraps, gaming community brings their own theories. Some fans have analyzed recent emoji usage by LE SSERAFIM member Yunjin, speculating about potential character selections. As per social media observations, players are theorizing that heroes like Mercy, Venture, Symmetra, Mei, and either Ashe or Illari might receive new skins in this collaboration.
For reference, the first collaboration introduced six distinctive skins:
Antifragile BB for Brigitte
Antifragile Dazzle for D.Va
Antifragile Kira-Kira for Kiriko
Antifragile Slay Star for Sombra
Antifragile Traysi for Tracer
Fawksey James for Junkrat
This collaboration follows a growing trend of partnerships between gaming companies and K-pop groups. Similar successful ventures include PUBG's collaborations with BLACKPINK in 2020 and 2022, which featured virtual concerts and special items, and PUBG's 2024 partnership with NewJeans.
