PlayStation Plus Losing 22 Games in May 2025, Including GTA 5

PlayStation Plus subscribers will see 22 games removed from the service's collection on May 20. This large removal includes popular titles across PS5, PS4, PSVR2, and even PS3 platforms.


According to Push Square, this is the second-largest removal of games from the service to date, following last May's removal of 25 titles.


Leading the list is Grand Theft Auto V, which only returned to PS Plus in November 2024 after a brief removal earlier that year in June. This is now its second exit in less than 12 months, though its frequent comings and goings suggest it may return again in the future.


Other notable departures include:


  • Batman: Arkham Knight

  • Payday 2: Crimewave Edition

  • inFAMOUS: Second Son

  • Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

  • Ghostrunner

  • A surprising batch of PSVR2 titles, including Walkabout Mini Golf and both The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners chapters


But perhaps the most surprising removals are Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2, two classic PS3-era exclusives. Their departure is a wake-up call for fans who thought first-party legacy titles would remain permanently accessible through the Classics Catalog.

  • The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners (PSVR2)

  • The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution (PSVR2)

  • LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 (PS4)

  • Stranded: Alien Dawn (PS5, PS4)

  • The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame (PS5)

  • Ghostrunner (PS5, PS4)

  • Payday 2: Crimewave Edition (PS4)

  • Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (PS4)

  • Journey to the Savage Planet (PS5, PS4)

  • Portal Knights (PS4)

  • Enter the Gungeon (PS4)

  • Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4)

  • inFAMOUS Second Son (PS4)

  • Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3)

  • Resistance 2 (PS3)


PlayStation Plus subscribers have until May 20 to play these games through the service. After that date, players will need to purchase the games separately if they wish to continue playing them.


Meanwhile, the service has also added some high-profile games recently, which include Battlefield 1, Hogwarts Legacy, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - Tape 2, and PlateUp for the Extra and Premium Tier members.
