After weeks of leaks and speculation, Krafton and Level Infinite have officially confirmed the PUBG Mobile x Attack on Titan collaboration — and it’s bringing massive changes to the battlefield.
The crossover, part of the game’s 3.8 update, launched globally in early May 2025, with Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) following shortly after.
Humanity’s Battle Reimagined in Battle Royale
First teased on April 21, through PUBG Mobile’s social media, the announcement offered a cryptic nod to Hajime Isayama’s legendary anime/manga series:
“On that day, mankind received a grim reminder.”
While official details were initially light, the beta version and community leaks quickly filled in the gaps, revealing an ambitious crossover with new gameplay mechanics, themed maps, character cosmetics, and a Titan-sized twist.
Key Features of the AOT Crossover
1. Titan Transformation Mechanic
Players can find and consume Titan Potions at hot-drop zones (like near Mylta or the shooting range) to transform into Titans for a limited time.
As Titans, players gain massive strength and can crush enemies — a unique mechanic new to PUBG Mobile.
2. Mechanical Hooks (ODM Gear)
Inspired by AOT’s Omni-Directional Mobility (ODM) gear, PUBG Mobile introduces "mechanical hooks" that allow players to zip across terrain or scale buildings.
Perfect for ambushes or clutch escapes, this gear significantly boosts mobility and vertical gameplay.
3. Steampunk Frontier Mode
A new themed experience includes:
Aetherholm: A grand train station with elevators and a secret room.
Cargo Hub: A dense urban zone connected via train tracks.
Hot Air Balloons: Strategic aerial positions for surveillance or sniping.
Players can hop aboard two new trains:
Epoch Cargo Train: Delivers valuable loot.
Express Train: Continuously loops for on-the-go transport and combat.
Maps Featuring Titans
Titans roam select maps in this themed mode:
Erangel
Livik
Sanhok
Each offers unique environments where players can either fight or flee these towering threats — adding a PvEvP twist to the battle royale formula.
Skins, Cosmetics & Prize Path
The update introduces a collection of cosmetics based on fan-favorite characters, including:
Eren Yeager
Levi Ackerman
Mikasa Ackerman
Armin Arlert
Annie Leonhart
Weapon skins (leaked for M416, DBS, and QBZ) and themed parachutes/Titan suits are also part of the lineup.
A Prize Path event, similar to past collabs like Dragon Ball Super, lets players unlock exclusive rewards by spending UC and completing in-game milestones.
Release Timeline
Beta Testing: Available in April 2025 for early feedback.
Global Launch: Rolled out in early May 2025, likely May 6.
BGMI Release: The Indian variant is expected to go live between May 10–15, mirroring previous collab rollouts.
Community reactions have been largely positive, especially regarding the Titan transformation and ODM mechanics. Some players critiqued the more stylized gun skins as “too alien,” but the update is widely seen as one of PUBG Mobile’s most ambitious anime crossovers yet.
Other games, like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Call of Duty, have also collaborated with Attack on Titan, indicating the franchise’s strong appeal in gaming.
