PUBG Mobile is preparing to release Version 3.8 with an exciting Attack on Titan collaboration that introduces Titan transformations, special mobility gear, and a new steampunk-themed mode. Currently available in beta, the full update is expected to launch globally in early May 2025.

The upcoming update represents one of PUBG Mobile's most ambitious collaborations yet, merging the battle royale gameplay with elements from the popular anime series that concluded its final season in late 2023. Players will soon experience a transformed battleground that blends high-intensity combat with distinctive Attack on Titan features.

At the heart of this collaboration is the ability for players to temporarily transform into giants reminiscent of the titans from the anime. According to the beta details, players can find Giant Potions at specific hot drop locations near the shooting range and Mylta. Once consumed, these potions allow players to grow to an enormous size, giving them the power to attack enemies, destroy buildings, and even carry teammates on their shoulders.

The update also introduces ODM Gear, inspired by the Omni-Directional Mobility equipment featured prominently in Attack on Titan. This new tool enables players to zip through the air similar to how characters navigate in the anime series. The mobility system lets players fly to strategic locations and attack with hand cannons, offering movement capabilities that beta testers have compared to Spider-Man's web-slinging.

Additionally, a Mechanical Hook functions as a grappling device for enhanced tactical positioning around the map.

Version 3.8's centerpiece is the new Steampunk Frontier mode that transforms classic areas like Erangel into industrial-era settings complete with train stations and distinctive steampunk aesthetics. The mode features two noteworthy locations:

  • Aetherholm: A central train station with recreational facilities and a clock tower housing a secret room accessible by elevator. Players can also summon trains carrying valuable cargo in this district, which offers both vertical and horizontal movement options.

  • Cargo Hub: A transit station connecting urban and rural areas via railway tracks. Hot air balloons stationed throughout the map serve as lookout points, giving players strategic advantages for spotting enemies and planning attacks.

PUBG Mobile's classic mode introduces functioning trains to the Erangel map. The Epoch Cargo Train and Express Train travel along designated routes on a massive railway network covering the map. These steam-powered vehicles stop at various stations where players can board them.

  • The Express Train continuously loops around the map, while the Epoch Cargo Train can be summoned by players to obtain special supplies.

The beta version of the 3.8 update is currently live, allowing players to test these features. The full release is expected in the first week of May 2025, with May 6, 2025, cited as a likely global release date.

The Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) version, tailored for Indian players, will also feature this collaboration, with a slightly delayed release expected between May 10-15, 2025.
