The standalone expansion for RoboCop: Rogue City, titled "Unfinished Business," will release on July 17 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, as announced by developer Teyon and publisher Nacon.

This new expansion continues where the original game left off, though players won't need to have completed Rogue City to enjoy the new content.

The story centers around OCP's latest project called the OmniTower, a housing complex built for residents who were evicted to make way for Delta City.

The plot kicks off when a group of mercenaries breaks into the Metro West police precinct and steals components from RoboCop's medical chair. These mercenaries then take over the OmniTower, transforming each floor into a dangerous battleground filled with enemies and traps. Their goal is to combine the stolen components with the tower's power source to gain access to all of OCP's technology, including RoboCop himself.

What makes this expansion particularly interesting is the personal connection to RoboCop's past. The leader of these mercenaries was once a colleague of Alex Murphy (the human behind RoboCop) before his transformation. While both RoboCop and this mysterious leader aim to protect Old Detroit, their methods and motivations are quite different.

According to the PlayStation Blog, the expansion will include flashback sequences that allow players to experience events from before Murphy became RoboCop. For the first time in any video game, players will have the opportunity to play as Alex Murphy in his human form. Additionally, players will also get to control former OCP scientist Miranda Hale during certain segments.

The expansion brings several new gameplay features to enhance the experience. Players can look forward to new weapons like the Cryo Cannon and will face new enemies, including katana-wielding androids. The developers have also added new finishing moves to make combat even more exciting.

Fans of the franchise will be pleased to know that Peter Weller, the original actor who portrayed Alex Murphy in the films, returns to voice RoboCop in this expansion.

The game maintains the successful formula from the original, blending intense combat sequences with investigative gameplay and light RPG elements.

For those interested in trying the original game before the expansion arrives, RoboCop: Rogue City is currently available as part of April's PlayStation Plus lineup. The original game received generally favorable reviews on PC and Xbox Series X/S, though PlayStation 5 reviews were more mixed. Critics particularly praised its authenticity to the source material and satisfying combat mechanics.

Additionally, a macOS version of the game is planned for release on April 30, expanding the title's availability to Apple users.
