Samsung Unveils Concept Folding Gaming Handheld at MWC 2025

Samsung has revealed an interesting new concept at Mobile World Congress 2025 - a gaming handheld called "Flex Gaming" that folds in half. This device takes Samsung's foldable tech beyond phones and tablets, potentially giving gamers a more portable option for playing on the go.

The Flex Gaming sports a 7.2-inch OLED screen that folds right down the middle. When opened up, it looks similar to other gaming handhelds, but the folding trick makes it much easier to slip into a pocket or bag when you're not using it.

One of the smartest design features is how Samsung handled the controllers. The Flex Gaming has the standard joysticks and d-pad setup you'd expect, but with a clever twist - there are special recesses built into the sides of the device. When you fold it closed, the joysticks tuck into these spaces, keeping the folded profile slim and preventing damage to the controls.

At MWC, Samsung had the Flex Gaming on display next to established devices like the Steam Deck and Razer Blade 16 gaming laptop. All three were running games from KRAFTON, including InZOI, and Dark and Darker.

Samsung hasn't shared whether this is a fully working device or just a prototype to show what's possible. There's no word on technical specs, battery life, or if it will ever actually hit store shelves. But it does show that Samsung is thinking about gaming as the next frontier for its foldable display technology.

This folding gaming device was showcased alongside Samsung's other display innovations at MWC, including OLED Magic, super-fast gaming monitors, and flexible screen concepts, which you can see on the official Samsung website.
