Skyesports Brings IPL-Style City Vs. City Tournament THE FINALS League

THE FINALS League

Skyesports, India's leading esports organization, has officially announced a city-versus-city esports tournament for the new Korean game, THE FINALS, following a brief teaser last week. This exciting event, named THE FINALE LEAGUE, is set to take place this September, featuring 10 Indian cities represented by well-known creators and professional players. These teams will compete for both a trophy and a share of the Rs. 8.4 lakh ($10,000) prize pool.

Interestingly, the event follows an IPL-style player auction before the tournament actually begins.

The 10 team captains will bid on top players to assemble their teams, after which the competition will kick off with the Group Stage, leading to a two-day Playoff Round.

The cities competing in this thrilling tournament include:

  • Mumbai Moonlanders

  • Rajasthan Galactics

  • Delhi Celestials

  • Bengaluru Starbusters

  • Hyderabad Halos

  • Chennai Comets: Vaadhiyaar

  • Punjab Asteroids

  • Ahmedabad Meteors

  • Kolkata Zeniths

  • Pune Supernovas: Ghatak

Some of India's top gaming personalities, such as Mortal, Binks, Sentinel, Ghatak, Scout, Sikh Warrior, and Vaadhiyaar, will participate in the league. However, it remains to be seen which teams these stars will represent. Each team will consist of six players, including a captain who will lead them into the competition.

The tournament's format aims to engage fans by allowing them to support not only their favorite gamers but also their home cities.

THE FINALS League

The tournament will be played in the dynamic Cash Out mode, where four teams will drop into a battlefield and fight for victory.

In this mode, 12 players, divided into four teams of three, will battle to secure Cash out Stations and eliminate enemies.

The team with the most cash at the end of the eight-minute round wins.

Fans can catch all the live action on The Finals India and Skyesports' YouTube channels.

Speaking on the event, Skyesports founder and CEO, Shiva Nandy, stated,

"After hosting creator-only LAN events, open-for-all community cups, and other competitions, it’s time for a city-versus-city showdown with THE FINALS LEAGUE. Players and fans can now cheer not just for their favorite gamers but also for their local cities and states."

This tournament is the third major THE FINALS tournament in India, following the Esports Revolution Showdown and THE FINALS Community Cup.

  • Esports Revolution Showdown LAN held in Chennai - Team Mortal triumphed over Team Scout to claim victory.

  • The open-for-all THE FINALS Community Cup - featured a $10,000 prize pool, with Team IND emerging as the winner.
