The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is showing no signs of slowing down nearly a week after its surprise release.

According to SteamDB, the remaster has now peaked at approximately 216,784 concurrent players on Steam, a significant jump from the 182,000 players recorded on its first day.

Over the weekend, Oblivion Remastered secured its place as the third most-played game on Steam, trailing only behind Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2.

In terms of Bethesda’s history on Steam, Oblivion Remastered now ranks as the company’s fourth-biggest launch. It follows behind Fallout 4 (472,692 peak players), Starfield (330,723), and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (287,411).

For a remaster, reaching such numbers without months of promotional buildup—beyond industry rumors and leaks—is particularly impressive.

Co-developed with Virtuos, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Players can purchase it for $49.99, and it is also included for Xbox Game Pass subscribers at no additional cost.

Bethesda recently confirmed that the game attracted over four million players across all platforms within the first three days of its launch. On Steam, it currently holds the position of the second best-selling game, just behind Counter-Strike 2, according to Steam’s sales charts.

Player reception has been largely positive. On Steam, 81% of the nearly 29,000 user reviews are favorable, reflecting strong early support from the PC community. The combination of nostalgia, updated visuals, and quality-of-life improvements appears to have resonated well with both returning fans and newcomers alike.
