Sony has released a complete collection of The Last of Us games for PlayStation 5, combining both major titles in the acclaimed series into one package. The new bundle arrives just before the second season of the HBO show premieres on April 13th.
"The Last of Us Complete" includes The Last of Us Part I and The Last of Us Part II Remastered, giving players the full story experience in one convenient package.
According to Naughty Dog, the developer behind the games, this collection is designed to welcome both longtime fans and newcomers who discovered the story through the television adaptation.
"We wanted to celebrate our studio, the series, and you, the fans, by making it easier than ever to experience this story," Naughty Dog stated in their announcement.
Both games in the collection have been optimized specifically for the PlayStation 5. The Last of Us Part I was "completely rebuilt" from the ground up to take advantage of the console's capabilities, featuring full DualSense controller support and 3D audio. Meanwhile, The Last of Us Part II Remastered offers enhanced visuals along with several bonus features.
These extra features include behind-the-scenes commentary from the developers, previously unreleased "Lost Levels" that didn't make it into the final game, a new roguelike mode called "No Return," and even a Guitar Free Play mode that lets players strum the in-game instruments freely.
The digital version of The Last of Us Complete is available now for immediate download on PlayStation 5. However, collectors might want to wait for the physical Collector's Edition, which won't hit shelves until July 10th. This special edition will be sold exclusively through PlayStation's direct online shop.
The Collector's Edition comes in a specially designed box featuring new artwork that captures the emotional core of the series. Inside, fans will find a Steelbook case with minimal designs for both game discs, making it a visually appealing package for dedicated fans.
The physical Collector's Edition also includes a set of lithographs created by specially selected artists.
Pre-orders for the Collector's Edition began on April 10. PlayStation is offering free launch day delivery for eligible pre-orders through their direct online store.
