Riot Games has officially opened pre-registrations for Valorant Mobile, marking a major milestone in the tactical shooter's expansion to handheld devices. But before you get too excited—there's a catch: for now, it's only available in China.
A China-First Launch Strategy
The announcement, made via the official Valorant X (formerly Twitter) account, confirms that Riot has teamed up with LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS—the developer behind PUBG Mobile—to bring a faithful mobile version of Valorant to life.
At Tencent Spark 2025, Riot confirmed pre-registrations are now live, with the game listed under the regional title "VALORANT: Energy Operation" on the Huawei App Store.
According to Anna Donlon, Head of VALORANT Studios:
“China has one of the largest and most competitive mobile FPS communities in the world. Since LIGHTSPEED is already a trusted developer in the region, we think it makes sense to start more locally, where their mobile expertise shines, before we finalize our plans to expand to other regions.”
How to Pre-Register for Valorant Mobile (China Only)
If you're in China and ready to jump into the action, here's how to pre-register:
Visit the official Valorant Mobile site
Click the pre-register button
Log in using your QQ account or create one
Complete the signup process
And that’s it—once the game drops, you’ll be among the first to gain access.
What We Know About the Game So Far
Valorant Mobile promises a full-fledged 5v5 tactical shooter experience, tailored for mobile. Riot aims to retain the depth and competitive precision of the PC version with:
Agent abilities and tight gunplay
A redesigned interface for touch controls
An Advanced Training Mode for learning pro-level mechanics
A Replay System for analyzing matches
Interestingly, leaks from X user 'subzidite2' suggest the mobile version might introduce two brand-new maps—Dust Cargo Yard and Ancient Village—reportedly inspired by existing maps Bind and Lotus. These maps haven't been officially confirmed by Riot Games and are currently not available in the PC version.
Rewards and Exclusive Playtest Goodies
Players who pre-register for the next Chinese playtest will unlock exclusive player cards by completing in-game missions—up to four unique designs are available. These rewards won’t be accessible outside China (for now), adding a layer of exclusivity for early adopters.
What About Global Players?
If you're outside China, you’ll need to hold tight. Riot has not announced a global release date, nor are the pre-registrations available through the App Store or Google Play in other countries. Riot has stated that it will "take things from there" after the China launch.
For now, global fans will need to wait patiently for any official word from Riot about broader availability.
